The behind-the-wheel course for students under 18 years of age consists of 14 50-minute periods of in-car instruction - 7 50-minute periods of driving and 7 50-minute periods of observation - and a road skills test. Juveniles earn a 180-day temporary license (effective after having a permit for 9 months).
Adults students, 18 years of age and older, wanting to waive the 60-day holding period and the DMV road skills test must complete 36 hours of classroom instruction and the behind-the-wheel course. Adults earn an adult waiver.
**Note: Adults who do not know how to drive should add an additional fee of $100 to the total, the price for being taught how to drive by the school.
Behind-the-Wheel Re-examination Course
Students who failed DMV road skills test three times must complete the in-vehicle component of a driver education course that consists of 14 50-minute periods of instruction for juveniles and 7 50-minute periods of instruction for adults before taking the test for a fourth time.
One-on-One Driver Training
60-minute in-car training classes with the student and the driving instructor. Applicants MUST have a valid learner's permit or driver's license.
Driver Improvement Course
DMV & AAA approved eight hour classroom instruction course that can be used to satisfy a court requirement or DMV requirement, to receive an insurance premuium discount, and to earn safe driving points as a volunteer. Certificate is given at the end of the course. A driver's license, learner's permit, state ID or any document that has your DMV customer number will need to be presented to the school so that we can record your completion of the course to DMV.
Online Driver Education Course
An online equivalent of the classroom course that consists of at least 30 hours of instruction. This course is approved by the Department of Education and has the same course content as classroom-based driver education courses.
The online driver education course is available to juveniles and adults. Students must be at least 15 years and 6 months old to take the online driver education course.
Permit Exam Refresher Course
Four hours of classroom instruction on the Virginia Driver's Manual for individuals who are ready to take or are having trouble passing the learner's permit exam and want to refresh and strengthen their knowledge prior to going to DMV.
Online Driver Improvement Course
An online equivalent of the eight-hour driver improvement course for adults, age 20 and older, that consists of 11 modules and a final exam that is completed at our school. Certificate is given after successful completion of the final exam, no mailing necessary.
Driver's Manual Course
Eight hours of classroom instruction if you failed the knowledge exam three times. When the student successfully completes the course and gives DMV the certificate of completion, they can take the knowledge exam again.
Students younger than age 19 may complete the course with the presentation of a Driver Education certificate (green card).

Driver's Manual Course Instructor Training
A course for driving schools and driving instructors who are not certified to instruct the 8-hour Driver's Manual Course.
Driver Education Course
A classroom course with 36 50-minute periods of classroom instruction.
The Driver Education course is required for students who would like to earn their driver's license before age 18. Adult students can complete this course with behind the wheel to waive the 60-day holding period for a learner's permit in order to earn their driver's license.
Escort Vehicle Driver Training
Eight hours of classroom instruction that is required before an applicant can take the escort vehicle driver certification test.
